Roofing Racers 2016
Now in its tenth consecutive year, Roofing Racers represent a voluntary collection of teams and individuals made up of all walks of the Roofing, Building Plastics and Windows industries, who come together each year to take part in the AJ Bell London Triathlon, raising money for our two charities – Great Ormond Street & Macmillan Cancer Support. With over £420,000 raised for charity to date, it’s certainly becoming one of the industry’s iconic events.
On Saturday 6th August once again, we’ll be starting with a 750-metre swim in the River Thames, Roofing Racers individuals and teams will then undertake a cycle of 20 kilometres, followed by a 5-kilometre sprint to the finishing line to complete one of the world’s largest triathlons. It’s certainly a challenge, which each and every one of our Roofing Racers enters into in good spirits!
On bike, on foot or in water, Roofing Racers will be exhilarated, tested and rewarded by these swim-cycle-run of challenges.
Whether participants from across the Roofing, Building Plastics and Windows industry take on all three gruelling disciplines alone, or in a team of three, they make sure they not only get fit but also have fun along the way.
We are calling on your help once again to donate – no matter how big or small, it will make all the difference.
Macmillan – £25 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and their families by receiving essential medical, practical and emotional support.
GOSH – A great big gift like £100 could buy four toys specially adapted for the children to help with their rehabilitation
